Huipil ['wipil]

Traditional handwoven blouses that are still worn today in Guatemala. Intricately woven on a back-strap loom, these textiles are as colorful as they are diverse. Each village in Guatemala has its own style of Huipil, but because each pice is hand made it is going to be completely unique. We carry a wide range of huipiles from inexpensive pieces to collector items. We also carry handwoven rebozos which are traditional shawls and tzutes which are multipurpose textiles that are usually square or rectangular.

Textiles are a fundamental part of Guatemalan culture.
